This lesson is going to show you how to write your first Android Things application using Android Studio. Coding your first Android Things application that can be installed and run on your Raspberry Pi.
When complete, you will have learned the basics of Android Things hardware components and also written your first Android Things application. You are now ready to investigate the rest of the platform.
Hardware needed.
For this lesson you will require:
- A Raspberry Pi 3
- A microSD card >= 8gig flashed with AndroidThings
If you need to buy the Raspberry Pi to start with Android Things I would recommend this kit.
The kit contains:
- Raspberry Pi 3
- Rainbow HAT (used in future lessons)
- Pibow Coupé for Android Things
- 2.5A official Raspberry Pi worldwide power supply
- 8GB microSD card
